BS EN 12211 focuses on resistance to wind load classification of windows and doors.
BS EN 12211 defines the test method to determine the resistance to wind load for completely assembled windows and pedestrian doorsets of any materials when submitted to positive or negative test pressures.
Note-
BS EN 12211 does not apply to joints between the window or door frame and the building construction.
BS EN 12211 is not intended to evaluate the strength of the glass.
BS EN 12211 on windows and doors resistance to wind load is useful for:
BS EN 12211 defines a series of pressures (positive and negative) at which measurements and inspections are made to assess relative frontal deflection and resistance to damage from wind loads.
BS EN 12211 guide you with the apparatus, preparation of test specimen, test procedure, deflection, safety test, and test reports of windows and doors with the specification and the requirements of relevant BS EN 12211 and codes of practice.
You can use BS EN 12211 while installing windows and doors.
BS EN 12211:2016 supersedes BS EN 12211:2000 which is withdrawn.
