BS 8213-4 is the fourth part of multiple series that gives recommendations for the surveying and installation of non-load-bearing windows and external door sets of any material, to be installed vertically (within 15°) into the external face of buildings.

Due to the wide variety of installation conditions, it is not possible to cover all applications completely. BS 8213-4 gives recommendations for the good practices necessary for the successful surveying and installation of windows and external door sets in both new build and replacement situations.
BS 8213-4 gives guidance on those good building practices that are expected to ensure satisfactory installation. BS 8213-4 includes unique performance characteristics that help you to be aware of the material being used and additional recommendations for survey and installation.
BS 8213-4:2016 supersedes BS 8213-4:2007, which is withdrawn.
