BS EN 10217 is a series of European standards on steel tubes that discusses
the best procedures and specifications required for manufacturing high-quality stainless steel tubes. BS EN 10217 is the seventh part of a series of documents on stainless steel tubes. BS EN 10217-7 specifies the technical delivery conditions in two test categories for welded tubes of circular cross-section made of austenitic and austenitic-ferritic stainless steel which are intended for pressure and corrosion resisting purposes at room temperature, at low temperatures, or elevated temperatures.
BS EN 10217‑7 on technical delivery conditions for stainless steel tubes used under pressure is useful for various applications in industries such as automotive, food and beverage, home appliances, and pharmaceuticals, amongst others. Specific users include but are not limited to:
Steel tubes and pipes can be used for a whole range of applications from building services to critical requirements involving gas or chemicals.
BS EN 10217‑7 provides information on the tube manufacturing process, material selection, forming operation and weld condition, delivery conditions, chemical composition, and mechanical properties of steel tubes which helps the user to test and select the right material to manufacture steel tubes and pipes and end-products.
Non-destructive testing (NDT) and inspection methods are given in BS EN 10217‑7 which helps the user to test and analyze the properties of a material, component, structure, or welding defects, and discontinuities without causing damage.
As a user of BS EN 10217-7, the technical delivery conditions specified will help you choose the right material for your product i.e. durable, strong, stainless steel tube that resists corrosion and heat. This will help in the construction of high-quality products, equipment, and structures that are resistant to harsh environments, reduce maintenance hassles, and have a long service life
