BS EN 60357 is an international standard that discusses the performance specifications of tungsten halogen lamps (non-vehicle). The tungsten filament of a halogen lamp has two purposes. One is to generate light, and the second is to generate the heat necessary to obtain a wall temperature exceeding 250˚C.

BS EN 60357 provides the maintenance and centre beam intensity maintenance where the lumen maintenance of a tungsten halogen lamp, at 75 % of rated average life, is not less than 80 % of the rated lumen maintenance value. The centre beam intensity maintenance of a tungsten halogen reflector lamp, at 75 % of rated average life, is not less than 80 % of the rated centre beam intensity maintenance value.
