BS ISO 11901-4:2021

What is ISO 11901-4 about? 

ISO 11901-4 is a fourth part of a multi-standard series. It specifies dimensions (in mm), nominal initial forces and types of gas springs. 

ISO 11901-4 is applicable to gas springs with increased spring force and compact built height of type 7500 to 200000, pressurized with nitrogen with nominal initial force of between 7400 N and 200000 N for use in press tools.

What’s changed since the last update? 

BS ISO 11901-4:2021 supersedes BS ISO 11901-4:2014, which is now withdrawn. 

Changes in BS ISO 11901-4:2021 include – 

• Addition of gas spring type 7500, 15000 and 200000 
• Modification of nominal initial force of gas springs type 10000 to 9200 
• Modification of the end of stroke nominal force increase coefficient to have a range from 1.5 to 1.8 for all gas springs 
• Replacement of length with diameter in dimensions of gas springs of type 7500 to 200000 
• Modification of symbol of nominal stroke
