1 Scope

This International Standard specifies the terms generally in use for components of compression and injection moulds and diecasting dies. The function of these components is shown in Figures 1 to 30.

NOTE 1 In addition to terms used in two of the three official ISO languages (English and French), this International Standard gives the equivalent terms in German and Swedish; these are published under the responsibility of the member bodies for Germany (DIN) and Sweden (SIS). However, only the terms and definitions given in the official languages can be considered as ISO terms and definitions.

NOTE 2 The figures should only be considered as examples.

The purpose of this International Standard is to introduce coherent terms in professional terminology particularly with regard to the use in CAD (Computer Aided Drafting).

Various symbols are specified for simplified representation on technical drawings.
