BS EN 13766 discusses thermoplastic hoses that are used for dispensing fuel. BS EN 13766 specifies requirements for two types of thermoplastic multi-layer (non-vulcanized) transfer hoses and hose assemblies for carrying liquefied petroleum gas and liquefied natural gas. Each type is subdivided into two classes, one for onshore duties, and the other for offshore.
BS EN 13766 is applicable for hose sizes from 25 mm to 250 mm, working pressures from 10,5 bar to 25 bar and operating temperatures from –196 °C to +45 °C.
BS EN 13766 on thermoplastic hoses for fuel transfer is useful for:
Thermoplastics are preferred materials for hoses due to their unique capacity to become soft, pliable, and mouldable while also being very durable. BS EN 13766 discusses the classification, materials and construction, dimensions, and performance requirements of these thermoplastic hoses for fuel transfer.
Test frequency, type tests, marking (hose marking and hose assembly marking) have been discussed in detail in BS EN 13766.
BS EN 13766:2018+A1:2020 supersedes EN 13766:2018, which is withdrawn. The main changes compared to EN 13766:2018 are as follows:
