Note 1: BS EN 1434‑5 covers meters for closed systems only, where the differential pressure over the thermal load is limited.
Note 2: BS EN 1434‑5 does not cover electrical safety requirements, pressure safety requirements and surface mounted temperature sensors.

BS EN 1434‑5 tells you about the initial verification of a thermal energy meter that includes a series of tests and visual examinations. These test methods are carried out to help you determine whether an energy meter, manufactured to replicate a given pattern, conforms to the pattern and to its regulations.
If the energy meter passes all tests and examinations given in BS EN 1434‑5, it can be given legal character by its acceptance as evidenced by stamping and/or issuance of a certificate of verification.
