PD CEN/TS 17394‑3 is the third part of a multi-part series which specifies a test method for security of attachment of functional and decorative metal press fasteners to children’s clothing including gloves, hats, scarves, hosiery, ties and textile belts.
PD CEN/TS 17394‑3 aims in providing information and test method to assess the attachment strength of metal mechanically applied press fasteners.
Note 1: Under PD CEN/TS 17394‑3 eyelets and rivets cannot be tested.
Note 2: Childcare articles, footwear, toys and other articles sold with clothing are not covered under PD CEN/TS 17394-3.
Note 3: Scope of PD CEN/TS 17394-3 is limited to metal mechanically applied components.
Note 4: Disguise costumes including carnival costumes are examples of clothing which are also toys and fall within the scope of the Toy Safety Directive.
