Scope

This part of ISO 13990 establishes a vocabulary of basic terms relating to yarn feeders and yarn control of single thread for knitting machines.

The figures illustrate solely the working principles of the various types of yarn feeder and yarn control. They do not represent the only, or even the most common, designs.

NOTE In addition to terms and definitions used in two of the three official ISO languages (English and French), this part of ISO 13990 gives the equivalent terms and definitions in the German language; these are published under the responsibility of the member body for Germany (DIN). However, only the terms and definitions given in the official languages can be considered as ISO terms and definitions.
