ISO 5223 is an international standard that covers the various types of sieves used for different cereals.
ISO 5223 specifies requirements for test sieves to be used for the laboratory determination of undesirable substances in a sample of cereals and which pass through test sieves of the following nominal sizes:

1,70 mm x 20,0 mm
1,80 mm x 20,0 mm
1,90 mm x 20,0 mm

ISO 5223 applies to test sieves with rounded apertures of diameter listed in test sieves with long rounded apertures, used for separating “shrivelled” kernels from rye, durum wheat, common wheat, and barley, (except for those apertures of diameters 2,50 mm and 2,80 mm, which are usually used for the calibration of malting barley).
ISO 5223 also applies to test sieves with rounded apertures of a diameter 4,50 mm are used for separating broken grains from maize.
Note: ISO 5223 does not apply to test sieves used for testing test grain for insect infestation.
