What is BS EN 13411-6+A1- Asymmetric wedge socket about?   

BS EN 13411-6+A1 is a European Standard that covers guidelines for the terminations for steel wire pipes and their safety with asymmetric wedge socket. 

BS EN 13411-6+A1 has been prepared to provide a means of conforming with the essential requirements of the Machinery Directive and associated EFTA regulations.  

BS EN 13411-6+A1 specifies the minimum requirements, for asymmetrical wedge socket terminations for stranded steel wire ropes. 

BS EN 13411-6+A1 deals with all significant risks, and risky situations and events relevant to asymmetric wedge sockets for terminations for steel wire ropes, when used as intended and under conditions of misuse which are reasonably foreseeable by the manufacturer. 

BS EN 13411-6+A1 applies to terminations of steel wire ropes with asymmetrical wedge sockets which are manufactured after the date of its publication. 

Note: BS EN 13411-6+A1 does not cover rope fatigue.
