What is BS EN 62885-3 - Surface cleaning appliances about?   

BS EN 62885-3 is a European standard on surface cleaning appliances that discusses the methods for measuring the performance of appliances. 

BS EN 62885-3 applicable to wet cleaning appliances for household use for carpet cleaning in or under conditions similar to those in households. BS EN 62885-3 does not apply to steam cleaning vacuums. 

The purpose of BS EN 62885-3 is to:

NOTE: Due to the influence of environmental conditions, variations in time, the origin of test materials, and proficiency of the operator, most of the described test methods will give more reliable results when applied for comparative testing of several appliances at the same time, in the same laboratory and by the same operator.
