BS EN 61360-2 is the second part of a multi-series standard used for Standard data element types with associated classification scheme for electric components. This helps in understanding the terms and definitions related to electric components by using the EXPRESS dictionary schema.
BS EN 61360-2 provides a formal model for data according to the scope as given in IEC 61360-1 and ISO 13584-42, and thus provides a means for the computer sensible representation and exchange of such data. BS EN 61360-2 is the common ISO/IEC dictionary schema based on the intersection of the scopes of the two base standards IEC 61360-1 and ISO 13584-42.
Note: The presented EXPRESS model represents a common formal model for the two standards and facilitates the harmonization of both.
Note: The IEC 61360-2 forms the master document. ISO 13584-42 contains a copy of the IEC 61360-2 EXPRESS model in an informative annexe
BS EN 61360-2 on EXPRESS dictionary schema for electric components is useful for:
BS EN 61360-2 specifies a common information model for the work of IEC SC3D and ISO TC184/SC4. This is helpful in implementing the dictionary systems which deal with data delivered according to either of the standards elaborated by both committees.
BS EN 61360-2 specifies the two schemas that define the two options which are useful in selecting and implementing these schemas. These options are referred to as a conformance class they are as follows:
By applying BS EN 61360-2, you can understand the terms and definitions related to electrical components. This EXPRESS dictionary schema for electrical components is useful in the manufacturing process which results in standardizing the quality of these components.
BS EN 61360-2:2013 supersedes BS EN 61360-2:2002. BS EN 61360-2:2013 includes some technical changes with respect to BS EN 61360-2:2002. These include:
