BS EN 13200‑1 is the first part of an international multi-series standard that deals with spectator facilities.
BS EN 13200‑1 specifies design and management requirements for spectator facilities at a permanent or temporary entertainment venue, including sports stadia, sports halls, indoor and outdoor facilities to enable their functionality.
BS EN 13200‑1 explains a spectator facility including all the spaces permanently or temporarily views the public assemblies, indoors or outdoors, sports, entertainment or miscellaneous events naming it service area. The viewing area includes stands for spectators seated, standing and with special needs, passageways, and gangways necessary for circulation, vomitories for entry and exit.
Note 1: BS EN 13200‑1 does not apply to other permanent venues such as theatres, cinemas, opera houses, auditoriums, lecture halls and similar places where persons congregate.
Note 2: Provisions for media facilities are not included in BS EN 13200‑1
