Why should you use PD CEN/TS 17438?  

Aggregates are inert granular materials such as sand, gravel, or crushed stone that are used in the production of concrete, together with water and cement. 

PD CEN/TS 17438 provides source materials for aggregates with a history of use and source materials with identified requirements on additional characteristics in one or more Member States. 

PD CEN/TS 17438 also provides the source materials for the lightweight aggregates (LWA) and its inventory list. 

PD CEN/TS 17438 explains the procedure for the incorporation of new source materials made by at least one of the CEN members and the request is based on the actual routine application of an aggregate from this new source on the market.  

Overall, PD CEN/TS 17438 provides the description of source materials that are used for the manufacturing of aggregates for construction purposes considered by CEN/TC 154.
