ISO 8437‑3 is the third part of the multi series standard that specifies safety requirements applicable to combustion engine powered ride-on snow throwers. It is intended to be used with ISO 8437-1 and ISO 8437-4 to achieve the full requirements and means for ride-on snow throwers.
The ISO 8437 series deals with significant hazards, hazardous situations and events relevant to snow throwers used as intended and under the conditions reasonably foreseeable by the manufacturer.

ISO 8437-3 defines safety requirements and common test methods to deal with significant hazards, hazardous situations and events relevant to ride-on snow throwers. It allows you to to improve the quality and safety of the snow throwers.
ISO 8437-3 provides guidelines for marking, labels and warnings to be put on the ride-on snow throwers so that the user understands the dangers and the correct way to use the snow throwers.
ISO 8437-3 improves the durability of the snow thrower by specifying tests to check for the structural integrity, overheating, engine control and cable strength.
BS EN ISO 8437‑3:2021 edition of ISO 8437-3, together with ISO 8437-1, ISO 8437-2 and ISO 8437-4, cancels and replaces ISO 8437:1989, which has been technically revised. BS EN ISO 8437‑3:2021 also incorporates the Amendment ISO 8437:1989/Amd.1:1997
