BS EN 1113 is an international standard used for sanitary tapware that specifies the characteristics, and test method for flow of shower hoses. This helps in designing and constructing these shower hoses used as sanitary tapware.
BS EN 1113 specifies:
BS EN 1113 applies to shower hoses of any material used for ablutionary purposes and intended for equipping and supplementing sanitary tapware for baths and showers.
BS EN 1113 applies to shower hoses connected downstream of the obturator of the tapware. Hoses that are an integral part of sanitary tapware (sink and wash basin mixing valves) or hoses intended to connect sanitary tapware to the water supplies are not covered by this European Standard.
BS EN 1113 on sanitary tapware is useful for:
Hoses are useful in transporting oil or water-based liquids from one location to another location.
BS EN 1113 specifies the test methods and test procedures for shower hoses used as sanitary tapware. The mechanical and hydraulic characteristics are useful in measuring the water flow rate of this sanitary tapware. With the help of BS EN 1113, you can verify the leak tightness and flexing resistivity of these shower hoses.
By using BS EN 1113 you can ensure the durability of hoses at a higher temperature and flow. By applying BS EN 1113, you can design and construct these shower hoses used as sanitary tapware.
BS EN 1113:2015 supersedes BS EN 1113:2008+A1:2011. BS EN 1113:2015 includes some technical changes with respect to BS EN 1113:2008+A1:2011. This include changes made in he introduction of 2 classes for hoses for supply systems of type 1. See Table 1 and Table 3.
