BS EN ISO 6801:2021

What is ISO 6801 about?  

ISO 6801 discusses about Rubber and plastics hoses. ISO 6801 specifies a method for the determination of the volumetric expansion of rubber or/and plastic hoses under hydrostatic pressure. 

NOTE: ISO 6801 does not specify the dimensions of the test piece and the test pressure(s) as each of which is specified in the appropriate specification.

Why should you use ISO 6801? 

The volumetric capacity of a hose is often required to vary by small amounts at the dispensing pressure while using it for dispensing specific volumes of fluids. 

ISO 6801 provides you with a method for determining the volumetric expansion of rubber and plastic hoses under hydrostatic pressure, that helps you in checking the variation in the volumetric capacity of rubber hoses. 

By varying the volumetric capacity, you can customize the application of the rubber and plastic hose as it is required or is suitable to you.  

What’s changed since the last update? 

BS EN ISO 6801:2021 supersedes BS EN 26801:1993+A1:2011, which is withdrawn. The main changes compared to the previous edition are as follows:                                                    

• Deletion of alcohol as pressurizing fluid 
• Addition of Clause 3
