Only terms which are particular to the pertinent field, or which in this field are defined in a particular way, are included. Specialized terms are found only in the rolling bearing standard for which they have been created.

What’s changed since the last update?  

BS ISO 5593:2019 supersedes BS ISO 5593:1997, which is withdrawn. BS ISO 5593:2019 has editorial changes. The main changes compared to the previous edition are as follows 

• Some terms considered obsolete or irrelevant to this document have been removed. 
• New entries have been added. 
• Definitions, figures and notes have been revised and/or improved.
