BS EN 13843 discusses roller sports equipment and inline skates with a focus on safety requirements and test methods. BS EN 13843 is applicable to inline-skates intended for users with a body mass of more than 20 kg and less than 100 kg.
BS EN 13843 specifies safety requirements for inline-skates, specifications for test methods, marking, and information supplied by the manufacturer to reduce the risk of injuries to both third parties and the user during their normal use. Inline-skates for use by a rider of less than 20 kg do not belong to the scope of BS EN 13843. They are toys.

BS EN 13843 discusses requirements, protruding components, and edges, binding elements, starting and/or braking devices, self-locking fixings, testing, test specimen, test conditions, protruding components and edges, coefficient of adhesion of wheels, horizontal frontal impact against the front wheel, and vertical impact against the starting and/or braking device. This will ensure safety for inline-skates.
