What is ISO 12614‑7 about?  

ISO 12614‑7 is part seven of the multi-series standard on pressure relief valve (PRV) which is a liquefied natural gas (LNG) fuel system component. 

ISO 12614‑7 specifies tests and requirements for the pressure relief valve (PRV), a liquefied natural gas fuel system component intended for use on the types of motor vehicles defined in ISO 3833. 

NOTE- 

ISO 12614‑7 is not applicable to the following: 

• Fuel containers 
• Stationary gas engines 
• Container mounting hardware 
• Electronic fuel management 
• Refueling receptacles 

Who is ISO 12614‑7 for? 

ISO 12614‑7 on pressure relief valve (PRV) is applicable to: 

• Manufacturers of LNG vehicles 
• Manufacturers of pressure relief valve (PRV) 
• Vehicle regulatory authorities  
• Vehicle repair shops 

Why should you use ISO 12614‑7?  

Good quality fuel system components are very important for the efficient functioning of an LNG vehicle. ISO 12614‑7 specifies the guidelines for the construction of pressure relief valve (PRV). The guidelines include the materials to be used and the method for assembly of those materials. This will help you manufacture durable fuel system components. 

ISO 12614‑7 provides marking instructions on pressure relief valve (PRV). The markings help in identifying and tracing pressure relief valve (PRV). 

ISO 12614‑7 provides tests to check the hydraulic strength and external leakage and continued operation of pressure relief valve (PRV).  These tests will help you in measuring the strength of the pressure relief valve (PRV).

BS ISO 12614‑7:2021 edition cancels and replaces the first edition (ISO 12614‑7:2014), which has been technically revised.
