BS EN 17106-3-2 together with EN 17106-1:2021 deals with all significant hazards, hazardous situations and events relevant to winter service machines – spreading machines when used as intended and under the conditions of misuse which are reasonably foreseeable by the manufacturer associated with the whole lifetime of the machine as described in EN ISO 12100:2010, 5.4.
The requirements of BS EN 17106-3-2 are complementary to the common requirements formulated in EN 17106-1:2021. BS EN 17106-3-2 document doesn’t repeat the requirements from EN 17106-1:2021 but supplements or modifies the requirements for winter service machines – spreading machines.

Thus, BS EN 17106-3-2 helps the operators in the maintenance of the machine.
BS EN 17106-3-2 gives guidelines for noise reduction, maintenance, guards and electrical and electronic systems. These guidelines will help in improving the safety of the spreading machines.
