PD CLC/TR 50542-1 is the first part of the PD CLC/TR 50542 series of standards that describes the Train Display System (TDS) in the driver’s cab, and the link between the TDS/TDC and some of its interfaces.
The scope of PD CLC/TR 50542-1 is to define the functional architecture around the TDC.
Note: PD CLC/TR 50542-1 excludes the following items:
PD CLC/TR 50542-1 on general architecture for driver's cab train display controller (TDC) is useful for:
Train display controller is involved creating a comfortable, controlled environment with great internal and external visibility and a logical desk layout that allows drivers to remain focused, carry out their day-to-day tasks intuitively and with the minimum of effort and respond quickly to unexpected events.
PD CLC/TR 50542-1 specifies the general architecture for driver's cab train display controller (TDC) that helps to provide on board real-time information (Display as well as voice guidance) to Loco Pilot regarding. The purpose of PD CLC/TR 50542-1 is to propose harmonization for communication between the displays on the driver's desk and the train on board systems.
PD CLC/TR 50542-1 describes the safety and the reliability of Train Display System (TDS) hardware which ensures the safety of the passengers.
PD CLC/TR 50542-1:2018 supersedes PD CLC/TR 50542‑1:2014, which is withdrawn.
PD CLC/TR 50542-1:2018 includes some technical changes with respect to PD CLC/TR 50542‑1:2014. These include:
