BS EN 13129 is a European standard on air conditioning for main line rolling stock that discusses comfort parameters and type tests to enhance the performance of air conditioning for maximum comfort.
BS EN 13129 establishes comfort parameters of air conditioning for passenger compartments or saloons of railway vehicles (single-level or double-decker). These comfort parameters apply in a similar way to the areas reserved for train staff.
BS EN 13129 also specifies conditions, performance values, and the comfort parameter measurement methods for compartments or saloons.
BS EN 13129applies to main line rail vehicles.
Note 1: BS EN 13129 does not apply to suburban vehicles, metros, tramways, and driver's cabs.
BS EN 13129 on the comfort parameters and type tests for air conditioning is useful for:
Air conditioning installation is equipment intended for ventilation and/or heating and/or cooling and/or filtration. Comfort is an agreeable sensation perceived by a person concerning his or her climatic environment. A cooling process that enables the interior temperatures to be lowered or maintained for main line rolling stock.
BS EN 13129 guideline assists you with comfort parameters, quality limits, service conditions, the performance of the heating and cooling installations, control, comfort conditions to be respected, supplementary requirements, air movement test, climatic tests, supplementary tests, methods for measuring instruments, characteristics of the test equipment, and distribution of measuring points for air conditioning for main line rolling stock.
With compliance and obedience of BS EN 13129, you can enhance the performance of air conditioning for main line rolling stock in railways and ensure applicable comfort for the train staff and the passengers in the train.
