PD CEN/TS 13149 is a series of products concerns on-board data communication systems on public transport vehicles. This series provides for data services that enable open and managed to share of relevant information.
PD CEN/TS 13149-10 specifies a location publication, enabling all on-vehicle services to share a common understanding of the location and orientation of the vehicle, based on inputs taken from global navigational satellite systems (GNSS) such as GPS and Galileo. The location service provides its information as multicast over the UDP protocol, following the architecture described in the relevant sections of CEN/TS 13149-7.
PD CEN/TS 13149-10 covers:
PD CEN/TS 13149-10 on road vehicle scheduling and control systems is useful for:
Public transport (PT) vehicles have information and communications facilities, including ticket machines, Automated Vehicle Location (AVL) systems, destination displays, passenger announcement systems, vehicle monitoring systems to enable voice and data to be exchanged with the control center, other PT vehicles, PT infrastructure and roadside devices.
PD CEN/TS 13149-10 provides you with the structure to be used by a service providing location data to the on-bus network, specifically related to Global Navigational Satellite Systems (GNSS).
The purpose of the location service specified in PD CEN/TS 13149-10 is to provide the geolocation data (coordinates) to other applications in a vehicle network. These geolocation data are issued by the GNSS receiver as “raw” location information.
Following guidelines provided in PD CEN/TS 13149-10, you will be able to achieve more efficient development of public transport components, more efficient operation and maintenance of onboard public transport equipment, high-quality intermodal passenger services based on intermodal public transport information, integration of new public transport services.
