BS EN 17371-1:2021

What is BS EN 17371‑1 about?  

BS EN 17371‑1 is the first part of the provision of services multi-series. The BS EN 17371 series aims to standardize the service provision procedure for service providers and service buyers. BS EN 17371‑1 guides the assessment of the capacity of service providers and the evaluation of service proposals to improve and facilitate the process of procuring services. 

Note 1: BS EN 17371‑1 does not apply to business-to-consumer (B2C) service contracts or for works contracts.  

Note2: “Works contracts” are contracts that have as their object the execution or both the design and execution, of work are not covered in this document. Contracts having as their object only the design of work are covered. 

Who is BS EN 17371‑1 for? 

BS EN 17371‑1 on service procurement guidelines applies to: 

• Service buyers and service providers regardless of type, size, or the nature of the services 
• Service providers who may be within or outside the service buyer’s organization 
• Contract auditors 

Why should you use BS EN 17371‑1?
