PD IEC/TS 62647-22 is the 22nd part of a multi-series standard used for Process management for avionics.
PD IEC/TS 62647-22 is intended for use as technical guidance by aerospace, defence, and high performance (ADHP) electronic applications and systems suppliers, e.g., original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and system maintenance facilities, in developing and implementing designs and processes to ensure the continued performance, quality, reliability, safety, airworthiness, configuration control, affordability, maintainability, and supportability of high-performance aerospace systems (subsequently referred to as ADHP) both during and after the transition to Pb-free electronics.
The guidelines may be used by the OEMs and maintenance facilities to implement the methodologies they use to ensure the performance, reliability, airworthiness, safety, and certifiability of their products, in accordance with IEC/TS 62647-1:2012.
PD IEC/TS 62647-22 also contains lessons learned from previous experience with Pb-free aerospace electronic systems. The lessons learned to give specific references to solder alloys and other materials, and their expected applicability to various operating environmental conditions. The lessons learned are intended for guidance only; they are not guaranteed of success in any given application.
Note: PD IEC/TS 62647-22 may be used by other high-performance and high-reliability industries, at their discretion.
PD IEC/TS 62647-22 on Aerospace and defence electronic systems containing lead-free solder is useful for:
Avionics are useful in communicating and navigating from one place to another place.
PD IEC/TS 62647-22 is useful in withstanding the higher manufacturing process temperatures of these printed circuit boards and electronic systems. This helps in generating the robust solderable lead-free surface for these PCBs and electronic systems. With the help of PD IEC/TS 62647-22, you can ensure the reliability and sustainability of these systems in different climatic conditions.
PD IEC/TS 62647-22 can be your best guide in using the Pb-free solder and mixed tin-lead/lead-free alloy systems while maintaining the high-reliability standards required for aerospace electronic and electrical systems. By applying PD IEC/TS 62647-22, you can evaluate the performance and can ensure the safety of these electronic systems. This helps in designing, manufacturing, and implementing good quality aerospace and defence electronic systems containing lead-free solder used in avionics.
