BS EN ISO 11127-4:2020

What is ISO 11127-4 about?  

ISO 11127-4 is the fourth part of the ISO 11127 series dealing with the sampling and test methods for non-metallic blast-cleaning abrasives. ISO 11127-4 specifies a method of assessing whether a non-metallic blast-cleaning abrasive has a minimum hardness of 6 on the Mohs' scale. 

The types of non-metallic abrasives and requirements on each are contained in the ISO 11126 series. 

Note: The test described in ISO 11127-4 is a pass/fail test and is not a method for the accurate determination of hardness.

ISO 11127-4 provides a test method to assess whether a non-metallic blast-cleaning abrasive has a minimum hardness of 6 on the Mohs' scale. The test in ISO 11127-4 helps you to determine if a non-metallic blast-cleaning has passed the test of hardness. 

Using the test described in ISO 11127-4 helps you to protect the steel substrate from damage. 

What’s changed since the last update?  

BS EN ISO 11127-4:2020 supersedes BS EN ISO 11127-4:2011, which is withdrawn. BS EN ISO 11127-4:2020 includes some technical changes with respect to BS EN ISO 11127-4:2011. These include: 

• Clause 3, Terms, and definitions, has been added 
• Subclause 4.2, Clause 6, and Appendix A have been updated
