PD CEN/TS 12200-2 gives guidance for the assessment of conformity of formulations, products, joints, and assemblies in accordance with EN 12200-1:2016 intended to be included in the manufacturer’s quality plan as part of the quality management system and for the establishment of third-party certification procedures.
In conjunction with EN 12200-1:2016, PD CEN/TS 12200-2 is applicable to piping systems made of unplasticized poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC-U) intended to be used for above-ground external rainwater, and to fittings and brackets made of acrylic materials which may be used in combination with the pipes.
NOTE: In order to help the reader, a basic test matrix is given in Annex A.
PD CEN/TS 12200-2 on plastics rainwater piping systems is relevant to:
PVC-U is the preferred material for piping systems due to its sturdiness, lightness, and cost-effectiveness. PVC-U is the most common PVC type for pipes and fittings including transportation of drinking water, soil and waste, sewage and underground drainage, and industrial applications.
PD CEN/TS 12200-2 provides guidance on abbreviated terms, testing, and inspection, material specification, size groups, fitting groups, types of testing, test records.
As a user of PD CEN/TS 12200-2, you can be ensured of all properties required to improve the quality of unplasticized poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC-U) pipes. With obedience and compliance to PD CEN/TS 12200-2, you can efficiently manufacture high-quality unplasticized poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC-U) pipes. The tests provided by PD CEN/TS 12200-2 have been designed to ensure the strength and durability of the unplasticized poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC-U) pipes, demanding high quality.
PD CEN/TS 12200-2:2017 supersedes DD CEN/TS 12200-2:2003 which is withdrawn.
