What’s changed since the last update?

BS EN 289:2014 supersedes BS EN 289:2004+A1:2008, which is withdrawn. BS EN 289:2014 includes some technical changes with respect to BS EN 289:2004+A1:2008. These include:

• Modification of the main elements of the title
• Replacement of safeguard groups I, II and III by more precise specifications of the safeguards in the respective clauses
• Addition of safety requirements for electromagnetic interference, machines with electrical axes, platen movements by gravity on up stroking presses, magnetic clamping systems, carousel machines, power operated mould changing equipment, and hazards generated by neglecting ergonomic principles in machine design
• Deletion of Annex G
