ISO 10350 is a series on plastics. Plastics are a wide range of synthetic or semi-synthetic materials that use polymers as the main ingredient. ISO 10350-2 identifies specific test procedures for the acquisition and presentation of comparable data for certain basic properties of plastics. In general, each property is specified by a single experimental value, although in certain cases properties are represented by two values obtained under different test conditions or along with different directions in the material. The properties included are those presented conventionally in manufacturers' datasheets.
ISO 10350-2 applies to reinforced thermoplastic and thermosetting materials were the reinforcement fibres are either discontinuous with a fibre length before processing greater than 7,5 mm or continuous.
ISO 10350-2 on plastics is useful for:
Plastics typically are made through human industrial systems. Most modern plastics are derived from fossil-fuel based chemicals like natural gas or petroleum; however, recent industrial methods use variants made from renewable materials, such as corn or cotton derivatives. Long-fibre-reinforced thermoplastic (LFRTs) is a type of easily moldable thermoplastic used to create a variety of components used primarily in the automotive industry. Single-Point is a piece of address management software from Aligned Assets. Its primary function is to act as a search engine that allows the user to search a central address database by entering search terms. ISO 10350-2 has been prepared because users of long-fibre-reinforced plastics find that available data cannot always be readily used to compare the properties of similar materials, especially when the data have been supplied by various sources.
ISO 10350-2 is concerned with tests employed to present “single-point” data on the limited range of properties commonly included in datasheets and used for the preliminary selection of materials. Best quality products will result in the best output so it is necessary to get the best quality properties for making a good and to get the best quality properties it should be compared by the single-point data and get the best results. ISO 10350-2 ensures the users identify specific methods and conditions of test to be used for the acquisition and presentation of data so that valid comparisons between materials can be made for the betterment of the product and quality purpose gain the customer’s confidence. Using ISO 10350-2 you can identify specific test procedures for the acquisition and presentation of comparable data for certain basic properties of plastics.
