BS EN IEC 62541‑5 is the fifth part of the OPC unified architecture multi-series. It deals with information models related to OPC unified architecture.
BS EN IEC 62541‑5 defines the information model for OPC unified architecture. The information model describes standardized nodes of a Server’s AddressSpace.
These nodes are standardized types as well as standardized instances used for diagnostics or as entry points to server-specific nodes.
In BS EN IEC 62541‑5 the information model defines the AddressSpace of an empty OPC UA Server.
Note: BS EN IEC 62541‑5 does not expect that all servers will provide all of these nodes.
BS EN IEC 62541‑5 on information model for OPC unified architecture is applicable to:
OPC unified architecture is an interoperability standard for transferring data securely and reliably in industrial automation and other industries. It is a platform-independent, service-oriented architecture that ensures a smooth flow of data across devices from various manufacturers.
BS EN IEC 62541‑5 gives you information on models and browse names, standard object types, standard variable types, standard objects and their variables, standard methods, standard views, reference types, data types which allows you to enable efficient data transportation.
BS EN IEC 62541‑5:2020 supersedes BS EN 62541‑5:2015, which is now withdrawn.
