Non-destructive testing (NDT) is the primary non-invasive assessment tool used to reduce the risk that engineered components will fail. To assure the proper detection and evaluation of safety-critical flaws, it’s vital that testing personnel are competent. ISO 9712 on the qualification of non-destructive testing personnel is a revised international standard giving the requirements necessary to certify as competent the personnel who perform a wide range of NDT.
