ISO 10893 is a series of international standards on Non-destructive testing of steel tubes that discusses the best procedures and test methods of digital radiographic testing. ISO 10893‑7 is the seventh part of a series of documents on Non-destructive testing. ISO 10893‑7 specifies the requirements for digital radiographic X-ray testing by either computed radiography (CR) or radiography with digital detector arrays (DDAs) of the longitudinal or helical weld seams of automatic fusion arc-welded steel tubes for the detection of imperfections. ISO 10893‑7 specifies acceptance levels and calibration procedures.
ISO 10893‑7 is also applicable to the testing of circular hollow sections.
ISO 10893‑7 on Non-destructive testing of steel tubes is beneficial for
Digital radiographic testing makes use of X-rays, produced by an X-ray tube, or gamma rays, produced by a radioactive isotope. The basic principle of radiographic inspection of welds is the same as that for medical radiography.
ISO 10893‑7 provides guidance on requirements, test methods, test results of digital radiographic X-ray testing.
As a user of ISO 10893‑7, you can be ensured of requirements for digital radiographic testing. With obedience and compliance to ISO 10893‑7, you can efficiently detect undercuts on the inside and outside welds, incomplete penetration in welding, cracks, and other imperfections.
With ISO 10893‑7 you can be ensured that the products consistently meet and exceed quality assurance targets.
BS EN ISO 10893‑7:2019 supersedes BS EN ISO 10893‑7:2011, which is withdrawn.
