What is BS EN 12057 - Flat modular tiles of natural stone about ?  

BS EN 12057 is a European standard on natural stones products that are hand-selected from the best, most consistent sources for durability and beauty than many artificial products, often lasting for decades with very little maintenance. 

BS EN 12057 specifies requirements for flat modular tiles of natural stone which are made for internal (including enclosed public transport premises) and/or external uses as floorings, stairs and wall and ceiling finishes.  

Note: BS EN 12057 does not cover mineral aggregates and artificial agglomerated stone material and does not cover installation.

What’s changed since the last update?  

BS EN 12057:2015 supersedes BS EN 12057:2004. BS EN 12057:2015 includes some technical changes with respect to BS EN 12057:2004. These include: 

• Durability, resistance to thermal and moisture cycling, skid resistance, direct airborne sound insulation, thermal conductivity, the release of dangerous substances added to requirements 
• Sampling at the point of delivery added to the sampling 
• Assessment and verification of constancy of performance added 
• Annex ZA substantially changed
