BS ISO 5752 is a document on metal valves for use in flanged pipe systems. BS ISO 5752 specifies the basic series of face-to-face (FTF) and centre-to-face (CTF) dimensions for two-way metal valves of the gate, globe, diaphragm, ball, plug, butterfly design types used as isolating and check valves in flanged pipe systems. Each basic series of face-to-face and centre-to-face dimensions can be used as required with flanges of mating dimensions conforming to the equivalent EN or ASME flange series.
The aim of BS ISO 5752 is to establish face-to-face and centre-to-face dimensions for metal valves to permit a degree of dimensional interchangeability. They are intended to be used in valve product standards.
BS ISO 5752 covers valves with the following PN, Class, DN and NPS values:
BS ISO 5752 on metal valves is useful for:
Flanges are used to connect valves, pipes, pumps and other equipment to make a pipework system. BS ISO 5752 provides the information on butterfly check or wafer check valves which are retained in the piping by bolting that spans the two adjacent flanges. These valves may alternately be furnished with full end flanges.
BS ISO 5752 implementation on metal valves for use in flanged pipe systems also provides information on the face-to-face and centre-to-face dimensions appropriate for the types of valves, including additional information on face-to-face and centre-to-face dimensions where ring joint facing is used.
Constructing flanged pipe systems using BS ISO 5752 can be beneficial as metal valves provide a seal that provides easy access to the piping system. As a manufacturer of metal valves, BS ISO 5752 guides you to adhere with requirements and test your valves.
