BS EN 13306 is an international standard that covers the terminology for technical maintenance services.  

BS EN 13306 specifies generic terms and definitions for the technical, administrative, and managerial areas of maintenance. It includes fundamental terms, item-related terms, properties of items, failures, and events, faults and states, types of maintenance, maintenance activities, etc. that are used for the maintenance sectors.  

Note 1: Maintenance of the only software is not covered in BS EN 13306.

What’s changed since the last update? 

BS EN 13306:2017 supersedes BS EN 13306:2010, which is withdrawn. BS EN 13306:2017 includes the major change compared to the previous version as follows: 

• Addition of new clauses and annex C, modifications in some clauses and annexes
