BS EN IEC 62031 specifies general and safety requirements for light-emitting diode (LED) Non integrated LED modules (LEDni modules) and semi-integrated LED modules (LED si modules) for operation under constant voltage, constant current or constant power and Integrated LED modules (LEDs modules) for use on DC supplies up to 250 V or AC supplies up to 1 000 V at 50 Hz or 60 Hz.
Note: This document does not apply to LED lamps.
Note: The performance requirements for LED modules are specified in IEC 62717
BS EN IEC 62031 on LED modules for general lighting is useful for:
LED (Light Emitting Diodes) are to illuminate objects and even places. Nowadays led are used everywhere due to their compact size, low consumption of energy, extended lifetime, and flexibility in terms of use in various applications.
BS EN IEC 62031 will help you in marking independent, integral and built-in modules which helps in considering the safety while performing the test. BS EN IEC 62031 helps in protecting live parts against accidents and also helps in resisting moisture and insulation.
BS EN IEC 62031 helps in withstanding the overpowering condition which will help you in not igniting the fire. These modules help in resisting heat, fire and corrosion. The thermal inference will help you in keeping the temperature below the rated maximum temperature.
BS EN IEC 62031 benefits the user by providing guidelines and requirements to perform the test safely as it specifies the safety requirements for the light-emitting diode (LED) module. With the help of BS EN IEC 62031, you will be able to design and construct the LED module. By designing these modules, you will be able to operate LED modules without harming the end-users and the surrounding.
