What is BS EN 16205 about?

BS EN 16205 discusses the measurement of walking noise on floors.

BS EN 16205 specifies the laboratory measurement method that is used to determine noise radiated from a floor covering on a standard concrete floor when excited by a standard tapping machine. The noise is measured in the room where the floor covering, and the excitation is located.

Note 1: BS EN 16205 does not cover subjective classification of quality of floor coverings.

Note 2: Under BS EN 16205 there is no restriction concerning the type of floor covering unless the required small pads of the flooring could not be assembled.
