BS 7335-1 is a British Standard BS 7335-1 is the 1st part of the BS 7335 series on the Installation of monolithic refractories.
BS 7335-1 specifies scope, definitions, planning, personnel, castable materials, and a wide range of essential details. BS 7335-1 was prepared under the direction of the Refractory Products Standards Policy Committee.
BS 7335-1 is a code of practice and describes good practices for working procedures in the installation of refractory linings by casting techniques. BS 7335-1 is specifically concerned with the casting of replacement linings, using refractory materials bonded by calcium aluminate cement. Major repairs, involving the removal of old panels of the lining back to the shell, are also covered.
Recommendations for ensuring accordance with the agreed design are included where appropriate. The casting of linings for steel chimneys is specifically described in BS 4207.
Note 1: Because of the complex nature of most applications of refractory castable, the manufacturer’s written instructions should always take precedence over any guidance information contained herein. The application of castable with low cement levels is not included.
Note 2: The titles of the publications referred to in this standard are listed on the inside back cover.
Note 3: Nothing in the code should be taken as a specification for either the materials or their installation.
BS 7335-1 on Monolithic refractories installation and Regulation is useful for:
Monolithic Refractories have various industrial applications for their thermal shock resistance at high temperatures, chemical inertia, and many more properties.
BS 7335-1 describes strong work guidelines for the installation of refractory linings using casting techniques. BS 7335-1 specifically addresses the casting of replacement linings with refractory materials bonded by calcium aluminate cement. Major repairs, such as removing old lining panels and reattaching them to the shell, are also covered.
Recommendations for ensuring adherence to the agreed-upon design are included where applicable. The aim of BS 7335-1 is to guide overall strong or recommended practices before, during, and after the installation of monolithic refractories.
BS 7335-1 provides a code of practice for installation of monolithic refractories by the casting method which makes installation quicker and helps improve reliability and ensures best industry practice.
