BS EN 13052 is a European Standard on the influence of materials on water intended for human consumption. The main aim of the BS EN 13052 series is to ensure the quality of water to protect from health risks and meet the regulatory requirements and adhere to the safety procedures that are needed for pollutant-free water.
BS EN 13052-1 is the first part of the BS EN 13052 series that specifies a method for determining the colour and turbidity of test waters after their contact with the organic materials used in piping systems. The term “products” comprises pipes, fittings, ancillaries including their coatings and joints.
The test method described in BS EN 13052-1 is applicable to products to be used under various conditions for the transport of water intended for human consumption and raw water used for the manufacture of water intended for human consumption.
Note: Coatings or protective layers on products that are not intended to be in contact with these types of water are not covered by this method.
