What is BS EN 19 - Marking of Industrial metallic valves about?  

BS EN 19:2016 is an international standard that discusses the requirements for the marking of industrial metallic valves. It provides the best industry guidance for manufacturing metallic valves. BS EN 19:2016 defines the method of applying the markings, on the body, on a flange, on an identification plate, or any other location. 

BS EN 19:2016 has to be considered in conjunction with the specified requirements of that valve product or performance standard. 

Note: The marking requirements for plastic valves are not within the scope of BS EN 19:2016.

What’s changed since the last update?  

BS EN 19:2016 supersedes BS EN 19:2002. BS EN 19:2016 includes some technical changes with respect to BS EN 19:2002. These include: 

• Normative references have been updated 
• References to BS EN 12516-1 and BS EN 12516-4 were added “Material” as the standards for the material designations to be used for the marking
