ISO 3691-6 gives safety requirements and the means for their verification for self-propelled carriers designed for carrying burdens without lifting, as defined in ISO 5053-1:2020, and/or personnel carriers, having three or more wheels, a maximum speed not exceeding 56 km/h and a load capacity not exceeding 5 000 kg.
Note 1: ISO 3691-6 is applicable to trucks equipped with a platform (which can be tilting) for the purpose of carrying materials or with a number of seats for the purpose of transporting passengers.

People who work with industrial trucks can find themselves in hazardous situations where severe injury might occur to them. It’s important for the manufacturers, designers, and operators to assess all the risks associated with it. Hence crucial safety guidelines need to be followed which are compliant with regulatory authorities.
ISO 3691-6 deals with all significant hazards, hazardous situations, or hazardous events, relevant to the applicable machines when used as intended and under conditions of misuse which are reasonably foreseeable by the manufacturer.
ISO 3691-6 describes methods for the elimination or reduction of hazards arising from the intended use of these machines during normal operation and service.
BS EN ISO 3691-6:2021 supersedes BS EN ISO 3691-6:2015, which is withdrawn.
