BS EN 12425 specifies the classification for resistance to water penetration for doors in a closed position when tested in accordance with EN 12489.
The doors are intended for installation in areas within the reach of people, for which the main intended uses are giving safe access to goods, vehicles and persons in industrial, commercial or residential premises. The doors may be manually or power operated.
BS EN 12425 applies to all doors provided in accordance with prEN 13241:1998.

Resistance to water penetration is the ability of the doors when in a closed position, to resist water penetration under specified test conditions. This property can be identified through the test method described in EN 12489.
Although EN 12489 provides you with a test method to determine the resistance to water penetration of industrial and commercial doors, it does not classify them. BS EN 12425 provides you with guidelines to classify these doors based on their performance in water penetration resistance test.
Overall, the classification guidelines given in BS EN 12425 help you to segregate and identify the industrial and commercial doors based on their water resistance property.
