PAS 1018:2017

What is this PAS about?

It sets out requirements for refrigerated delivery service providers so that they can improve the quality and consistency of refrigerated parcel delivery services. 

Who is this PAS for?

This standard will create opportunities in the following industries: 

• Cold chain
• Parcel delivery
• Postal services
• Temperature-sensitive products (e.g. foodstuff, plants, cosmetics)

Why should you use this PAS?

Recent years have seen a growth in demand for temperature-controlled refrigerated delivery services in response to the increase in online shopping. 

Such services can be an affordable option for individuals and small businesses wishing to send chilled and frozen parcels, because it gets round the need to package every parcel separately with its own bulky and expensive cooling materials. 

That said the growth in these services has created a recognized need for industry standards that establish best practice. PAS 1018 is the first such standard. 

Written with the expertise of key stakeholders, its use will:

• Help service providers to improve the quality and consistency of their services
• Help service users make informed decisions about which provider to choose
• Improve customer confidence and trust in such services
