BS 6130 is a series on hose and hose assemblies for asphalt and bitumen. Hose and hose assemblies are flexible hollow tubes designed to carry fluids from one location to another. BS 6130-1 specifies requirements for the design, manufacture, performance, testing and marking of two basic types of metallic hose and hose assembly for dockside, road and rail loading and unloading of asphalt and bitumen.

After manufacture, every hose assembly are subjected to a hydraulic pressure test during which there is no sign of leakage or of any other mode of failure. The test pressure is given in BS 6130-1.
