BS EN IEC 62984‑1 is the first part of a multi-series standard. It details general requirements for high-temperature secondary batteries which ensures efficiency and longevity of batteries. BS EN IEC 62984‑1 specifies general aspects, definitions and tests for high-temperature secondary batteries for mobile and/or stationary use and whose nominal voltage does not exceed 1500 V.
High temperature batteries in BS EN IEC 62984‑1 are electrochemical systems whose cells internal minimum operating temperature is above 100 °C.
Note: BS EN IEC 62984‑1 does not apply to -
BS EN IEC 62984‑1 on requirements for high-temperature secondary batteries is applicable to:
In high-temperature secondary batteries, cells are kept at high temperature and enclosed within a thermal insulated enclosure. High-temperature secondary batteries have a variety of applications in extreme conditions such as drilling, logging and geothermal applications.
BS EN IEC 62984‑1 provides you information on environmental conditions, design and requirements, tests, markings, rules for transportation, installation and maintenance for high temperature batteries which allows you to ensure longer life cycles and efficiency of batteries.
BS EN IEC 62984‑1 provides you tests which includes mechanical, environmental, EMC, routine and special tests for high temperature batteries which ensures battery safety and efficiency at higher operating temperatures.
Implementation of guidelines in BS EN IEC 62984‑1 ensures the operational safety, efficiency and integrity of high temperature secondary batteries.
