BS 7388 is a British standard that provides guidance on the design of hydraulic systems and their installations with a view to minimizing external leakage of fluids and is intended to provide guidance on the way the design specification should define how the customer's requirements in respect of leakage are to be met.
BS 7388 encompasses system specification, circuit design considerations, component pipework design, installation procedures, and commissioning.
Note: BS 7388 is not concerned with aspects of systems other than those which relate to leakage and excludes aerospace application and design of hydraulic components.
