ISO 22476-6 is the sixth part of the multi-series that is applicable to the geotechnical investigation and testing. ISO 22476-6 specifies the equipment requirements, execution of and reporting on full displacement pressure meter (FDP) tests.
Note: ISO 22476-6 fulfils the requirements for the full displacement pressuremeter test as part of the geotechnical investigation services according to EN 1997‑1 and EN 1997‑2.
ISO 22476-6 on geotechnical investigation and testing is applicable to:
Geotechnical testing is carried out by geotechnical engineers to determine the physical attributes of a worksite and whether or not they can impart the necessary properties for stable and durable foundation construction. In this regard, ISO 22476-6 presents best industry methods to determine the performance of soil.
Tests with the full displacement pressure (FDP) meter cover the measurement in situ of the deformation of soils and weak rocks by the expansion/contraction of a cylindrical flexible membrane under pressure.
Conducting the FDP test in compliance with ISO 22476-8 can determine and assess the stress-strain response of the tested fine soils and sands in situ and provide reliable and accurate measurements. As a result, you can evaluate whether the properties and performance of soil are such that adequate strength and stiffness can be imparted for the structural integrity of your foundation construction works.
